Traditional Leading Techniques step by step

Tools and materials
 Scissors or craft knife  For cutting up card templates

Frank Lloyd Wright Window
 Oil filled glass cutter  For glass scoring
 Grozing pliers  For nibbling bits off glass and breaking small edges off
 Cut running pliers  Apply pressure down score line to break glass
 75 watt soldering iron  We use a 200 Watt iron but the 75 and 100Watt irons are fine
Lead knife To cut lead came
 Small scrubbing brush  To scrub cement under leads
   
 Glass  Usually 2 to 4mm thick glass
Lead came  Varies in width from 4mm to 16mm
 Horse shoe nails  Keep glass in place as you lead the panel
 50:50 Solder  50% lead and 50% tin
 Tallow candle  Rubbed onto lead prior to soldering. Works as flux
Lead light cement Squidgy, black putty like mix used for weatherproofing panel
Whiting   Chalk powder used whilst cleaning cement off panel
